90s Redux: Soldier X (Cable), Agent X (Deadpool), & Domino featuring Nico!
Nico is back with a solo episode that brings together some of the best threads of the nearly 20 years of stories for these heroes and 700 episodes of X Is For Comics! As the New X-Men era is barrelling towards its conclusion, there’s still new series launching. In an effort to transform the characters of the 90s into new identities for a post-Vertigo world, Cable was reimagined as Soldier X, forsaking so much of his classic iconography as they continue to evolve his mutant messiah narrative (only to abandon it in the end); Deadpool is reimagined as Agent X in the wake of Gail Simone’s run on the title (but is her new Agent X really Deadpool?); and Domino sees a new status quo with a deeper backstory, a complicated mission, and new characters breaking her free of the role of “girlfriend” her earliest adventures saw her cast in (though the threads set here only cause minor shifts). Read along with Soldier X #1 – 12, Agent X #1 – 15, & Domino (v2) #1 – 4 – it’s all this and more on an all-new X Is For Comics!
